an English countryside romance - The anti-bride.com

Creating beautiful and inspiring bridal content is really up there as one of my most favourite parts of this wonderful new job of ‘bridal boutique owner’. It really feels like a full circle moment for me as my university degree was actually Media & Editorial Fashion Styling (BA hons), what some (and we won't name names), may have referred to as a ‘micky mouse' degree back in the day. Well, I think I've done ok out of it. Friends & family will of course be relieved and grateful that my budget just about now stretches to professional model hire, which is a far cry from much of my degree workâ€Ķ.anyway enough nostalgia from me but it all feels very fitting and right where I am meant to be.

Lets revert back to September 2024, Hannah (edenbstudio.com) and I were in deep planning for a directional, seasonal editorial to celebrate the change in season, highlight some key pieces for us both (with a little nod to some bridal fashion trends) and pull together a dreamteam of wedding industry creatives we adore and felt inspired to work with.

We cherry picked a stunning team of talented female wedding industry creatives who thankfully resonated with our brief and moodboard for the editorial. As a starting point, we knew the venue would be Kingdom in Penshurst, Kent. Ever since I married at their sister venue The Beacon in 2022, I've stayed in touch with the team and Kingdom was to be the most enchanting and unspoilt autumnal backdrop to home our ideas for this bridal fashion editorial.

Despite our positivity, we were hit with torrential rain, gale-force winds and beautiful sunshine all within the one morning, it really just highlights to me that with the right team behind you who will share in your vision and energy, it won’t stop you from creating magic. I couldn't recommend this team of women enough, I feel inspired and proud everytime I see or share these images (and if you follow our social media, you will know that this is a lot).

An English Countryside Romance

A collaborative editorial set in an ancient woodland venue, showcasing a collective of British bridal brands at the forefront of modern weddings.

Featuring an edit of contemporary silk gowns from The Briderie, each with a sleek and minimal aestetic, but softly styled for a feminine and romantic look. The gowns were paired with transformative neck scarves, removable puff sleeves and layered with statement jewellery and veils from UK accessory designer Eden b. Studio.

Met with wind, rain and sun, the shifting elements of this moody autumnal day captured on analogue film by photographer, Sundari Ferris.

Kingdom, a dreamy and earthy venue, with an unspoilt romantic charm, where couples make their vows beneath the oldest living tree in the British Isles, surrounded by ancient woodlands.

The concept drew inspiration from the tones and textures of these surroundings, leaning into the rich colours of the season. Florals, Flo and the Foxglove used a palette of colour of the moment, rich ruby red and warm chocolate, softened with pretty nude pink and a fusion of textural greens were matched with an abundance of candlelight and opulent berries.

Contrast was added with luxurious drapery from Pop Pop Studio, in swatches of ivory silk that billowed against the moody woodland landscape and fine silverware nestled amongst the opulent silk bows.

English-rose inspired makeup by Lauren Garfitt with fresh freckled skin with pink tones on the eyes, lips and cheeks. Paired with tousled effortless waves and a textured high french twist, the perfect undone hair look.
